London 2012 Home Head Journey

Why we're getting behind Euan Burton and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local Judo star, Euan Burton, as he attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the London 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Euan Burton trains locally at the Edinburgh Judo Club. Ascot-born Euan has been competing in judo since the age of six and, at 31, has already won medals at the European and World Championships, and has been ranked within the top five in the world for the last 18 months.

Euan commented: ‘I love BMWs and can't believe that I'm going to be driving a new BMW Z4 from now until the end of the London 2012 Games. I have a really demanding training regime and I do a lot of travelling to promote the Games, so having the Z4 is brilliant. Thank you so much to Peter Vardy Edinburgh and BMW.’

Steve Brown, Dealer Principal at Peter Vardy Edinburgh, says: ‘This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get really involved with the 2012 Games. Our staff and customers are keen to support London 2012, so we're really happy to be backing Euan – especially because he has had exceptional results at the World and European Championships last year.’
